Freedom of Religion
Banning people on the basis of their religious beliefs is not who we are. It’s exactly the opposite of who we are and diametrically opposed to the teachings of Jesus, from which “the word” Christianity at least comes from. It is definitely not what this country was founded on. Our founder’s intentions were to provide for the persecuted, take them in and to provide with the freedom to practice their religious beliefs.
What has happened to us that we no longer honor this?

Mark the Date: World Healing Meditation 9.21.16
The World Healing Meditation started in 1986 with John Randolph Price and his Quartus Foundation. In the first years it brought the consciousness of more than 500 million people together at the same time in all time zones around the world to pray for Peace.
I’ve been doing the World Healing Meditations for many years. I started back in about 2001 officially at the Center of Positive Living in St. Augustine under the tutiledge of Rev. Elizabeth Claire. We have always used the John Randolph Price prayer as the basis of the meditation and his desire became our desire for the world. For a few years during the last 14 years I the City Council even proclaimed September 21st World Peace Day.
With the help of some friends, we built a Peace Pole at the Center, which stands today. On it, in French, Spanish, English, Arabic, and Braille, is written “Let Peace Prevail.”
And today, Peace does prevail. Amidst protests, and conflicts, our world today sees greater peace than has ever been in more than 2,000 years. Is it a perfect Peace? No. Does the world yet work for everyone? Not yet.
What does this mean for us. It means we pray. It means we move ever forward in our individual and collective desires to see it happen. We do not individually have to “make it happen,” but we can allow for that to be our “prevailing desire” and by our setting of our attention on our intention, it will happen.
Why? Because our thought is the most powerful thing in the universe, because we are each powerful, co-creators with God!
Spirit Education (www.Spirit-Edu.com) will be having a peace meditation at 7am Eastern on September 21st, 2016 online on Zoom. Please join us if you can for this event. Information is on the website and below.

SOM Sunday Prayer and Meditation
Tonight’s meditation will be a prayer for all those who were involved in and around the shootings and their aftermath in Orlando, FL last night , and a meditation, as I am want to do for Peace, inner peace, as well as Peace in a World that works for everyone. Nothing saddens me more than the senseless killings that have taken place. While no killing makes sense, the murder of innocents is even more distressing and unnecessary. While we can never make sense of it, we can at least grieve together and reach out for some sanity to appear among the religions, and among the world leaders to know a higher cause, as that of universal Love, empathy and compassion.
Jon us tonight if you choose.
It is on Sundays evenings at 7:30 pm ET and 4:30 PT. We use ZOOM as our medium and meeting place for our Science of Mind® Sunday meetings, the same technology we use for our classes.
Here is the info:

Much that is good and even wonderful has come into your life without you having any inkling that you were the creator of it.

Celebrate!
“The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.”
~ Oprah Winfrey
Remember how when you were little, how much you loved birthdays? It was such a special time. A time to celebrate you. A time to celebrate life. Celebrations are such fun and a wonderful acknowledgment of the wonder of spirit. There are so many things to celebrate, the first day of spring, the first snowfall, little or big accomplishments. . The rain after a drought. The first time doing something, Of course birthdays and holidays, and whatever else make your heart sing! Ernest Holmes states,” There is a direct law responding to condemnation and a direct law responding to praise and appreciation.” So celebrate and the law will give you more to celebrate! Take out a bottle of champagne or sparkling cider bring along a special treat, wear something fun, stand under the stars toast the Universe, say thank you thank you thank you! Rejoice in the bountiful ways of God!

I Think I Can!
Have you ever thought about the change that can happen in your life by a simple change of attitude? Like the “little train that could” a simple change of attitude from “I can’t” to “I think I can” can make all the difference! can you say, I think I can?
Now, remember, the “little train that could” didn’t just say “I think I can” once, the trick is to repeat the affirmations again and again, so that it becomes the dominant thought in your mind, just like the “little train that could!” Say, I think I can, or better yet, I know I can, or simply, I can!
It amazing how these little children’s stories can take what seems like something surmounting adversity and reduces it to its simplest component. They usually work on one simple concept and offer anew possibility of how to conceptualize it. Isn’t that a kinder, gentler way to work through our issues anyway?
Think about the last time you told someone you can’t do something. Was that true? is it truth that doing that thing is beyond your mental or physical capacity or is it that you won’t do it. I’ve had friends who have said, “I can’t learn Spanish.” I said, “say, Buenas Dias ” and their response was “I can’t” when, in fact, they were saying “they won’t.” It amazes me how much we limit ourselves by our words. How are you limiting yourself?

Shining Light
“We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand, and melting like a snowflake.”
– Sir Francis Bacon, Sr.
This life we have right here and now, in terms of “infinity,” is just a moment in time. Of course time is of our making, because everything, to us, happens in a linear way. We’re born, we live, and we die, in that order. There is no other way.
One thing Sir Francis Bacon doesn’t say, and maybe he didn’t realize it, is that both the star and the snowflake don’t cease to exist when they “die,” they only change form. Because they are made up of energy, (atoms, molecules, cells) their chemical makeup may change, but they do not cease to exist.
So, while we may cease to exist by a doctor’s standards when we “die,” we, in reality, only change form. Being made up essentially of water, it evaporates, and the remainder of the material returns to the earth, as basic elements.
As to what happens during this transition, one might say that the inherent energy we are made up of is transformed into another form, or as a person of thought, I believe we return to our maker, the universal energy some call God, Buddha, Wakan Tanka or the divine creator. Whatever happens, it is of little import here, as we would probably never know our former life, if we are reincarnated.
But, if, in this thing we call life, our purpose is to “sparkle like a star,” then how do we sparkle like a star?
That, of course, is a personal choice, but I believe it is to live our life to the fullest, while doing our best to do harm to no one, to be good stewards of the earth, and to do unto others as we would have them do unto us.
In order for us to do this, to know right from wrong or good from bad, we have been endowed with the ability to think for ourselves. The first things that seemed to come to our awareness was survival and self-preservation. Even in Jesus’ day, people had a hard time comprehending his message, because the the people were still in survival mode.
Today, the speed of development of everything has accelerated dramatically, and many fewer people are any longer in a survival mode with nature, but the survival mode has become a socio-economic, pseudo religious-political reality. It is away from this mode that the world needs to evolve in order for all our stars to really shine brightly in this world WE have made for ourselves. If there is any job or purpose for us in this moment of time, it is for us to be the highest expression of who we can be, to lose the judgment we may have as part of our story, which keeps us from accepting those around us as friends and not foes, and to live from that higher place, which may encourage others to see that it is a safe place to be and therefore transition into that place themselves.
That takes a great deal of faith and trust to allow oneself to be open to change and be vulnerable to allow that change for themselves.
Are you ready?

Paying for your sins!
How long must we pay for our sins?
First we must redefine “Sin” as it’s referenced in the Bible. When Jesus spoke, he referred to the “mistakes” people made, not a sin against God. The language he spoke was Aramaic, the language of the period in that Middle Eastern area of the world. When the Words were translated to the Greek and Latin, the translators messed up. They made a mistake, as many translators do, or they made an intentional error, which gave more power to the Priestly class over the peasants, who were unable to read it for themselves.
At any rate, the question of paying for your mistakes becomes a “worldly” one, rather than a Spiritually charged one. So the question becomes, “How long are you willing to beat yourself up over a mistake?”, rather than an idea of rioting in hell for an eternity.
The point is, in my way of thinking, we have a limited time on this planet. Is it really productive to beat yourself up for something that already happened to you? Whether it is something you did to yourself or something you feel someone else unjustly accused you of, my thought is a resounding “NO!”
I know people who have held onto a grudge for years. This “thing” became their story (of woe.) It became how they identified them self. They became stuck in their story. Their life never changed. They knew why, but the story became their identity. Without their story they were nothing, or so they thought. When they finally let go of their story by way of a repo, a foreclosure and loss of a sizable income, their life changed immensely, as you might expect. It took a short time to pick up the pieces, but with the help of friends, within two years everything started to turn around. Now 10 years later, this person has made an even better life, and is a new person.
Was it easy? Yes and No. Until he let go of the story that kept him from having the life he wanted, it was Hell! Once he let go and surrendered to the possibility of something even greater, his life made an about face and he found himself back on the road to the top. The transition was letting go, and making space for his good to fill the void.
As Ralph Waldo Emerson says, “the world abhors a vacuum.” And, when you make a space for good to flow, your life, it does.
Affirmation: I let go of that which does not serve my highest and best, so the good I deserve can be mine.
